How to Stay Prepared During a Wildfire 

Before

It’s important to prepare for a disaster before it even happens, so in case one does happen you 

  •   Sign up for a community warning system like the EAS ( Emergency Alert System)

  • Know an evacuation route

  • Have a place where you can quickly take all important document

  • Fire resistant materials within your houeholds

  •  Review Insurance

  •   Have enough supplies ready for your household and a first aid kit that can go into you car

Follow these rules to stay safe if you are ever in a Wildfire

  • Pay attention to emergency alerts

  • Call 9-1-1 if trapped

  • Use an N95 mask to protect you from smoke

  • Listen to EAS, NOAA Weather Radio , or local alerting systems

Even after a Wildfire has hit there still may be dangers and hazards that you should be aware of.

  • Listen to authorities

  • Avoids ash , charred trees, any damage from wildfire  

  • Send text messages to tell people if you are ok

  •  Document property damage Wear protective clothes when cleaning
